Delta wins, loses in 4A district baseball action

Reiher tried to stretch a base hit by a fellow teammate into an RBI but was gunned down by an accurate throw from the outfield.Delta High School's baseball season ended long before the players and coaches wanted it to.

The Panthers hosted one of eight regional post-season playoff sites.

Panther thinclads fare well at Tiger, Bruin Invites

b11 dhstr1Photo by Wayne Crick Delta’s Chris Black shows great form as he clears the bar during high jump competition last week at the Tiger Invitational in Grand Junction. Black cleared 6-0 along with two other jumpers but had to settle for third, based on misses.Outdoors enthusiasts and sports teams must have thought they were in paradise last weekend. The weather cooperated with all venues of competition and results of most all activities showed how much good weather means.

Panthers play four; win three games

b10 dhsbb1Photo by Wayne Crick With the baseball just off the right shoulder of Eagle Valley’s shortstop, Delta’s Devan Williams successfully steals second base. Delta came from behind in this game to win by a score of 6-4 in Delta. The Panthers played the Devils again on Monday.The top two teams from the 4A WSL met at Suplizio Field Tuesday (Apr. 30). The winner would have undisputed control of the WSL 4A division.
