Delta girls JV team splits two tourney games

The Lady Tigers took advantage of Delta’s miscues to score a 48-30 decision in the first round of tournament action in Fruita.Delta High School's Lady Panthers haven't seen the floor in a varsity basketball game as of yet, but the junior varsity squad got a taste of action with a pair of contests in tournament action in Fruita last weekend.

The young Panthers were not in sync with each other in their opening round game against Grand Junction on Friday.

Panthers 2nd at mat tourney

b08 dhswrPhoto by Tamie Meck Delta’s Panthers placed 12 of 14 wrestlers to earn 182 points and place second at the 25th annual Delta Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Dec. 8.The Delta Panthers placed 12 wrestlers and earned 182 points to place second at the 2012 Delta Invitational tournament.

"First would have been nice, but we'll take second," said Panthers head coach Clayton Curtis.
