Photo by Wayne Crick Senior Mitch Whiteside (with the ball) played his last football game for Delta High School last Saturday in a 35-24 loss to fifth-seed Pueblo East. Whiteside completed his last pass of his high school career to brother Ryan (who is blocking in the above photo - #11) for a 13-yard touchdown pass with 4.5 seconds left in the game.It was not to be for the Delta Panthers. A tough Pueblo East squad survived an early scare in the opening moments of the first quarter to score a 35-24 win in the state 3A football quarterfinals in Delta Saturday afternoon (Nov. 17).
