Paonia girls win first- round tourney game

While 13 points may seem like a big loss, consider that the Lady Bulldogs opened last season with a 40-point loss to Paonia.

Eagles win Warrior Classic

b08 phswr1Photo by Tamie Meck The Paonia Eagles earned 204.5 points to win the 35th annual Warrior Classic Wrestling Tournament, held Dec. 14-15, at Grand Junction Central High School. A total of 38 teams came from throughout the state, Utah, Wyoming and Arizona to compete in the prestigious, all-class tournament.Last year, Paonia placed second at the Warrior Classic. This year, they owned it.

Lady Eagles open season with 57-55 loss to Olathe

The game was also a fundraiser for the family of Grant Arterburn.The Lady Eagles opened the season with a non-conference 57-55 loss to Olathe.

Freshman rebounder big in Eagles’ hoop scheme
