Paonia outside hitter Carson Pipher was one of four Lady Eagles volleyball players named to the Class 2A Western Slope League First Team for the 2013 season. Pipher, a four-year varsity player, had 846 attacks and 347 kills for the season and 307 digs.
She was also named Player of the Year for the 2013 season.
Junior hitters Easton Hartigan and Morgan Hartigan, and setter Taylor Carsten were also named to the WSL first team.
Setter Claire Tracy and middle hitter Jessie Holt received honorable mention.
For the second consecutive year, head coach Krista Carsten was named league Coach of the Year. Paonia ended the season with a 25-2 record. In the last two years under Carsten, Paonia qualified for the state tournament and posted a 48-7 record.blog comments powered by Disqus
