Eagles soar into regionals

The Paonia Eagles advanced to the 2A Region 4 baseball tournament after defeating Ignacio and Rangely last Saturday to claim the 2A District 2 title.

Paonia was the home team in the opening game against Ignacio.

CHS 4D team off to state

Wins hard to come by at regional tennis

For the first time in almost a decade, Delta County will send tennis players to the state 4A tennis tournament.

The Cedaredge High School 4 doubles team of Katie O'Hern and Sierra McHugh qualified after defeating Delta's Rachel Tallent and Emily Kuta Friday in a playback at the 4A Region 8 tournament, held May 3 and 4 at Canyon View Park in Grand Junction.

Panther track teams 2nd at Montrose

Delta’s Jake Ames and Cedaredge’s Danny Martinez share thoughts during a lull in their respective schedules last week at the Montrose Invitational.
Delta's successful top five finishes in track continued this past week with both the Panthers' boys and girls teams placing second in the 13-team boys and 14-team girls divisions.

The Panther boys scored 102 points to finish second in the team race with Rifle winning the title with 115 points.

Eagles heading into playoffs with perfect conference record

The Eagles wrapped up the regular season with two conference wins over Rangley Saturday. The Eagles are alone at the top of the 2A Western Slope League with an 8-0 record.
