Former 2005 Delta High School graduate Patrick Weitzel competed in, and won, first place in the men's physique championships at the 2012 Armbrust Pro Gym Warrior Classic NPC Show in Loveland on Aug. 18.

The national qualifying show was the biggest NPC show in Colorado history with nearly 300 competitors participating.

Weitzel graduated from Colorado State University last May and currently is pursuing oil and gas landman work in the Denver area.

Weitzel wrestled for Delta High School and would like to thank coaches Dan Dunham, Thomas Godfrey, Derek Carlson, Henry Flores, and his parents, Tim and Barbara Weitzel, for motivating him and giving him a determined mentality growing up.

Weitzel is currently training to compete at Nationals being held in Atlanta, GA. in Nov. where he hopes to win his IFBB Pro Card.
