Wells Fargo wins Coed Gold play on Tuesday

The 2012 adult softball season has ended for Tuesday's Gold Coed League. This year's league champion, Delta Family Fun Park finished the summer with a 10-2 mark with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage placing second with a mark of 9-3.

Tuesday night’s Coed Gold champions is the team from Delta Family Fun Park. Delta Family placed second in tournament play. Members of the team include:front row (l-r) Holli Neely, Lori Miller, Monica Hostetler, Bear Duran, and Grace Duran. The back row consists of Jevon Petershiem, Mike Abeyta, Derek Miller, Keith Hostetler, Tony Gonzales and Lance Marks.
In the season-ending league tournament, Wells Fargo emerged the top club and Delta Family Fun Park settled for second place.

The third place team, Twist Off, was 8-4 in league play and finished tournament play at 2-2 for third place.

Wells Fargo swept through tournament play with wins over Twist Off (15-5), Delta Family Fun Park (18-12) on the opening night of tourney action. The two wins positioned Wells Fargo in the finals where they awaited a championship game challenger last week.

Delta Family Fun Park opened with a win over Hellman Chevrolet (12-5) before falling to Wells Fargo in their next round of play. That loss dropped Delta Family into the losers' bracket where they faced Twist Off for the

The team placed second in league competition but came from behind to go undefeated with a 13-12 win over Delta Family Fun Park in the finals. right to play against Wells Fargo for the tournament title last week. Delta Family eked out an 11-8 win to advance to the title game.

Wells Fargo got a two RBI triple from Steven Wilks to give them a 4-2 lead going to the third inning. Delta Family mounted a rally in the third to score four runs while its defense held Wells Fargo scoreless and took a 6-4 lead to the fourth.

Three runs in the fourth boosted Delta Family's lead to 9-4. Wells Fargo outscored Delta Family 6-1 in the fifth tying the game at 10-10.

A three-run bomb from Dewane Myrick in the sixth inning helped Wells Fargo score four runs to overcome a 12-10 deficit heading into the sixth. The 'money crew' won the game, and Coed Gold title with a score of 13-12.

Twist Off lost their second game of the tournament to Wells Fargo then beat The Pondy (23-3) in first round of losers' bracket play. Their next game was with Hellman Chevrolet where Twist Off stole a 23-22 decision to move on and face Delta Family Fun Park.
