Roughly 100 golfers converged on Devil's Thumb Golf Course on Sunday to take part in the Second Amendment Golf Tournament.
The proceeds from this tournament were dedicated to Colorado Sheriff's Departments across Colorado.
The team of Ron Johnson, Steve Larsen, Dwain Bush and Josh Applegate were this year's winners in the 18-hole team scramble.
At the conclusion of play, Dave Justice and Delta County Sheriff Fred McKee delivered messages to the event's players.
Justice, an informative Constitutional speaker, spoke about the true intentions of Amendment 2 and the seemingly misguided direction government is taking in relation to the positions taken by the public. He urged listeners to take a more active approach to their involvement in NRA affairs.
McKee spoke about the role of a sheriff and the somewhat indifference of treatment shown by some government agencies. He, too, urged listeners to become active in their defense of their rights. "Go out and get your concealed weapon permits," was a quote from McKee. Agencies dealing with the processing of those permits are not keeping up with the demand, noted McKee.
The attentive crowd was mostly positive and in agreement with presentations made by both men.
