Todd Helton rehabs in GJ Rockies uniform

Todd Helton, the famed first baseman of the Colorado Rockies, spent two days of rehabilitation in Grand Junction as a member of the Grand Junction Rockies.

 

Helton, who had been recovering from a strained right hip, asked to be sent to Grand Junction as part of his rehabilitation program.

H & R Block Thursday night ladies’ winners

H & R’s Bear Duran steps on third base for a force out against Wells Fargo’s Erin Doughty. H & R won the Women’s Slowpitch Tournament Championships with a 4-2 decision over Wells Fargo.
After losing to Wells Fargo Home Mortgage twice in regular season play, and finishing with a 10-2 record to win the league title, H & R Block faced determined competition in tournament play but held on for yet another tournament title.

Both Wells Fargo and H & R finished 10-2 on the regular season with H & R claiming the league title on a tie-breaker.

Partners Classic Golf Tournament July 21

This year marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of Partners of Delta, Montrose, and Ouray and the 15th anniversary of the Partners Golf Classic sponsored by Alpine Bank. The event will be held on July 21 at the Cedaredge Golf Course.

Wells Fargo wins Coed Gold play on Tuesday

Delta Family Fun Park’s Derek Miller braces for a throw to second during game action last Tuesday. Delta Family lost a 13-12 decision to Wells Fargo Home Mortgage for the tournament title.
The 2012 adult softball season has ended for Tuesday's Gold Coed League. This year's league champion, Delta Family Fun Park finished the summer with a 10-2 mark with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage placing second with a mark of 9-3.

13-yr-olds to tourney

This year's team is comprised of Delta, Gunnison, San Miguel, and Montrose County All-Stars.

The boys are fundraising to offset some of their expenses at the state tournament.
