Mike Gwinn doesn't look, feel or act like the 70 he will be on the day before Valentine's Day. But 70 years of age is what he is and it figures in the name of his soon to be debuted CD, "Still Going 70 in a 55."
The title and cover, which will be revealed at the release party, also reflect his natural sense of humor that spices up his music.
"I'm enjoying my 70th year in a body of a much younger human being, so that's the goofy reference to speeding," Gwinn said.
His bandmates in The North Fork Flyers have contributed to the new music. Gwinn credits David Snider for his contributions on keyboard, bass guitar, as engineer and producer. Gwinn co-produced the 10 new original songs he wrote.
"It runs the gamut from folk to bossa nova, jazz, funk, rock, humorous and protest songs," Gwinn said.
Mike Gwinn, the North Fork Flyers and friends will perform in concert at the Paradise Theatre in Paonia on Saturday, March 15. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the music starting at 8.
The $20 ticket price includes Gwinn's new CD. Online tickets for the CD release party are available at mikegwinn.brownpapertickets.com.blog comments powered by Disqus
