Kids will face their fears, experience God at VBS

Even though Oklahoma is in a recovery mode and the country is rallying to help, a team of Baptists from the small town of Salem, Okla., is coming to help at Grand Mesa Baptist Church's vacation Bible school. Both churches have been working to begin classes Monday, June 24, with registration at 8 a.m.

Maryland vocalists, orchestra present concert

c05 choirorchestraSt. Mary Catholic Church and Montrose United Methodist Church invite area residents to attend concerts presented by the Damascus (Md.) United Methodist Church Charles Wesley Singers and Academy of St. Cecilia Youth Orchestra.

The concerts are free and will be held in Montrose at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1855 St. Mary's Drive, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, and Thursday, June 20.

Delta celebrates Bike to Work Day June 26

The City of Delta and Bill Heddles Recreation Center are joining the rest of Colorado in recognizing Bike to Work Day Wednesday, June 26.

To encourage employees to leave their cars at home and bicycle to work, Bill Heddles Recreation Center has found several businesses willing to provide "meals on wheels" all day.

Learn about ham radio June 22-23

During the weekend of June 22-23, the public will have a chance to meet and talk with hams from the Montrose Amateur Radio Club (MARC) as they operate from the top of Sunset Mesa during ham radio's annual Field Day. Sponsored by the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), the national association for amateur radio, hams across the country will use only emergency power to contact as many stations as possible.
