The county engineering department is reporting that the closure of T Road last week following a flash flood that undermined the road bed will be a permanent closure. Money is not available at this time to do the rebuilding work now needed following a gully washer downpour two weeks ago.

Photo of the now closed T Road east of Green Valley shows where running water two weeks ago carried debris across the road surface and is undermining the road bed.
According to the county engineering department the road has washed out before.

The road has been barricaded since the storm washed water, mud and mine tailings across a section of the steep, switchback gravel road that runs between Green Valley and 2325 Road.

The Road traverses grades and crosses creeks. It gets mainly local use. There are now plans to vacate the right-of-way at this time. It is said to be a popular route for bicyclists and joggers in the area and the roadway remains passable for those uses.

A gate is being installed at the top of the grade above Green Valley Road and a turn-around will be constructed there, according to current engineering department plans. Some form of closure notice is also planned near the intersection with Green Valley Road.
