A memorial service will be held Sunday, Aug. 30, at 10 a.m. at Erickson Springs.

Mr. Miller was born during a dust storm on April 18, 1935, in La Junta, to Everett and Thea (Brown) Miller. He spent his childhood and attended school in La Junta. He attended Otero Junior College in La Junta.

He was active in the Boy Scouts. He was chief of the Koshare Indian Dancers, a Boy Scout Master of a troop in Lander, Wyo., an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, hunting, fishing and spending time in the mountains. He was a rockhound and was known for his camp breakfasts.

Mr. Miller is survived by three children, Diana, Rustin and Sandra.

He was preceded in death by nine siblings.
