A memorial service was held Oct. 12 at Delta Taylor Funeral Service Chapel with James Gall officiating.
Mr. Mautz was born March 13, 1944, in Aspen, to Joe and Angelina (Gianinetti) Mautz. Following an accident to his father, he started a lifetime of running the family ranch. He attended Carbondale High School and Mesa State College.
He married Penney Cerise on Jan. 6, 1973. They moved to Olathe in 1994 where they operated a successful cattle feedlot, and were starting a composting/grinding business.
Mr. Mautz was a hard worker. He enjoyed his family and making things work better.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Penney Mautz of Olathe; two sons and their wives, Kirt and Deanna Mautz of Olathe, and Keith and Holly Mautz of Orchard City; one granddaughter, Kaylee Mautz; and a brother.
Mr. Mautz was preceded in death by his parents.
