After two encounters with law enforcement authorities last week, Rory Rundle, 49, of Crawford is being held in jail on a $60,000 bond.

On Tuesday, Oct. 27, sheriff’s deputies received a report of a domestic dispute on Dogwood Avenue in Crawford.

Rundle allegedly assaulted Christy Gyer and Michael Mussro, both of whom reportedly suffered minor injuries.

Rundle left Crawford and drove towards Hotchkiss, where he was stopped by the Hotchkiss Police Department and charged with two counts of third degree assault, domestic violence, driving under the influence and driving under revocation.

On Sunday, Nov. 1, Deputy Shackelford was patrolling in Crawford when he spotted Rundle driving down Highway 92. Aware that Rundle was driving under revocation, he attempted to stop his vehicle. Rundle reportedly tried to elude the deputy. When he finally pulled over, Deputy Shackelford smelled alcohol and asked Rundle to perform roadside maneuvers. Rundle reportedly became combative and had to be wrestled to the ground.

He was again taken into custody and now faces charges of possession of a dangerous drug (methamphetamine), driving under the influence, eluding, resisting arrest, violation of a protection order, violation of a bail bond, domestic violence and two counts of reckless driving.
