Paonia’s hopes of reaching the 2A state volleyball playoffs was shattered last Saturday in Meeker.

A tough weekend at districts caused the failure of the Lady Eagles to advance to post-season play.

Paonia began the weekend on Friday with matches against Soroco, Meeker and Rangely. The Lady Eagles took on Vail Mountain on Saturday morning and lost that match by a 0-3 score ending their season.

Paonia was 14-4 heading into the tournament and had a 6-3 record in league play.
