Altrusans will have hundreds of delicious hors d’oeuvres to share with their guests. Live entertainment, lots of chocolate and a cash bar will be available. Friday night tickets are only $5 and available at the door. This is a great way to start your holiday shopping and support your community at the same time. On Saturday, Nov. 21, there will be a luncheon served on the beautifully decorated tables, all deriving their themes from favorite books, as well as a fashion show and more shopping at the artisans’ booths. Your Saturday ticket price of $25 includes the Friday night event, but hurry, tickets are going fast! Altrusans are involved in many aspects of Delta County life. Their fund raisers buy books to support literacy programs, food to the needy, beauty to the parks, support to teens in need, scholarships to those wanting to learn, community service, encouragement for the Delta Doves, support of the youth ASTRA program and more. In short, if you live in this area, you have been touched in some way by the wonderful members of Altrusa. You can support your community and have a lot of fun by attending the Sugarplum Festival, Nov. 20 and 21. For ticket information call Amanda Twamley at 640-7389.

The Altrusans of Delta are again working their magic and transforming the gym at Bill Heddles Recreation Center into the elegant “Sugarplum Festival.” On Friday, Nov. 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. you’ll enjoy strolling among the fabulously decorated tables, shopping local artisans’ ”Little Side Street Market” and visiting the Holiday Book Fair.
