The Eleven O’clock Riders from Delta Elks Lodge #1235 and Santa capped off an extremely busy week with their annual Joy Run to the area nursing homes on Sunday, Dec. 6. The week began meeting nightly filling goodie bags and building their float for the Parade of Lights which took first in the LED lighting category. Above the riders spread holiday cheer and distributed goodie bags to over 200 residents in Horizons, Crossroads, Delta House and Willow Tree facilities. They were escorted by deputies from the Delta County Sheriff’s Office. At right, members pose for a picture with Lisa and Jim Kirchner on the left from Operation Sweet Tooth. The riders gave them $1,000 to continue their mission to provide much needed personal supplies for troops serving overseas. The group also donated $1,500 to a few local needy families for Christmas. The week culminated Sunday evening with a chili supper and visit with Santa for underprivileged youth in the area at the lodge.
