An Isuzu Trooper driven by Warren Scheetz, 24, of Delta, rolled two and a quarter times in an accident on Trap Club Road Monday, Dec. 21. Cedaredge volunteer firefighters, sheriff’s deputies, a Delta County Ambulance District crew and the Colorado State Patrol responded to the accident, which occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Scheetz and two passengers in the vehicle, Elizabeth Harper, 24, of Delta, and Tyler Shields, 18, of Eckert, escaped without serious injury. Trooper Pat Averett reports that Scheetz was westbound on Trap Club Road near Doughspoon Road. When his vehicle failed to negotiate a right turn, the Isuzu skidded into the eastbound lane, back into the westbound lane and began to rotate counter-clockwise. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, became airborne for 23 feet, skidded sideways and rolled, coming to rest on the passenger side. Scheetz was charged with careless driving.
