A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 13, at 3 p.m. at Cory Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 16, at Calvary Santa Fe in Santa Fe, N.M. Mr. Dixon was born March 12, 1920, in Austin, to Guy and Lillian (Hover) Dixon.

He married Faye Meacham in 1938. She preceded him in death in 1985.

Mr. Dixon was a roofer in Napa, Calif. In 1944 he moved his family to Pena Blanca, N.M., where he managed the Apple Ranch. When ownership of the ranch was transferred to the University of New Mexico, he and his wife continued management and built Dixon's Apples. He patented three new varieties of apples, Champagne, Sparkling Burgundy, and Rum & Raisin. His granddaughter and her husband eventually took over the business. In 1998 he moved to Greenleaf, Idaho, for health reasons and to be near his son.

Mr. Dixon is survived by two sons and their wives, Richard of Duluth, Minn., and Dan of Greenleaf, Idaho; four grandchildren and their spouses; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to All Faiths Receiving Home, 1709 Moon Street, NE Albuquerque, NM 87112-3973.
