The band is led by the grandson of the legendary R.L. Burnside, Kent Johnson Burnside. Burnside handles lead guitar and vocals. Joining him is Jacob Best on drums, Rich Wilcox playing violin and harmonica and Emmet Butts on bass guitar.

Burnside has toured and supported his grandfather R.L. Burnside and many other greats, such as Buddy Guy, North Mississippi Allstars, Jimbo Mathus and Junior Kimbrough just to name a few. Following in R.L.'s tradition, Kent Burnside and The New Generation are always on the road playing shows and promoting Burnside's CD's "Cotton Field Disco," "Country Boy, City Dreams," and coming soon his newest CD, "Evil."

Burnside admits while growing up, he saw his grandfather play guitar along with many of his friends without a pick and simply figured that's the way you do it. A true revue of the Mississippi Hill country and its music, from the porch to the stage. He stands alone and on his own with the next generation to listen and enjoy. Burnside is taking juke joint music to a whole new level. Kent Johnson Burnside should not be missed by any blues fan.
