Mrs. Chartier was born Nov. 11, 1925, in Detroit, Mich. When she was in her teens she moved to Wyoming to work on the railroad.

She married Harree Chartier. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Chartier moved to the North Fork in 1980. She volunteered at KVNF radio and had a weekly country music show for many years. She was known at Norma Jean the Country Queen to her listeners. She was a member of Ladies Elk Auxiliary and helped serve at the Hotchkiss Senior Lunch Program. She enjoyed quilting and socializing with friends and family.

She is survived by a son, Steven Chartier of Paonia; two daughters, Jenet Chartier of Hotchkiss, and Patricia Winterfield of Hot Springs, Mont.; two brothers, Lindy Coffee and Curt Coffee; a sister, Loretta Molloroni of Littleton; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
