This weekend, Dan and Levi Byers are planning to serve breakfast to a few thousand folks attending the Blues & Brews Festival in Telluride.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday they’ll serve up some great pancakes using DaddyCakes®, easy-to-use mixes which combine quality ingredients like real fruit, whole grains and organic flour with a whole lot of fun.

Dan was living in California and Levi was a resident of Telluride, but together they came up with a way to transform a pancake breakfast into a fun adventure for family and friends.
“That was just the beginning of what became a much larger adventure of seeking out and creating some of the best mixes, batters and products that we could share with our families and friends,” Dan says.
“Family has always been important to us,” say Daniel and Levi Byers, who grew up on Ash Mesa. “So when we discovered that we could make better baked goods for today’s generation that were easier for active families — everything around here got really exciting!”
“We actually lived on the Montrose side, but I would walk 75 yards to my grandparents’ house to use their home, which was a long distance call from our house,” Dan recalls. “Both were party lines.”
The Byers family has lived in the valley for over a hundred years. After graduating from Olathe High School in 1985, Dan attended California State University in Fullerton, Calif.
“When the real estate market took a downturn in 2007, my brother Levi and I decided to embark on a new adventure — to create some of the best pancake mixes we could.
“It was a natual progression that we would initially develop Daddy Cakes™ by starting off by adding some excitement to American tradition . . . the pancake breakfast! After all, the pancake breakfast is more than just a warm meal — pancake breakfasts bring people together.”
