| Delta Elks Lodge hosts Flag Day ceremony |

Delta Elks Lodge #1235 held its annual Flag Day service on Sunday, June 14, at the Delta Elks Lodge. The lodge was assisted by members of Delta JROTC and Delta Emblem Club #462.
Taking part from the Elks Lodge were exalted ruler Tom Rowan, chaplain Debbie Houser, past exalted ruler Al Rogers, loyal knight Joe Siennicki, treasurer Bill Haskett and esquire Paul Cross. Those from Delta JROTC were Dakota Moston, Uhlan Ecriss, Bret Bigham, Eric Marshall, Andrew Mixter and Shylo Sims. From Emblem Club were president Dora Valdez, first assistant marshal Margie Ahlberg, trustee Doris Levenhagen, marshal Barbara Pierce, treasurer Ruth Marvel, recording secretary Mary Jo Chaffee, financial secretary Kay Thatcher and Maxime Burch from Hotchkiss Emblem Club #306. The ceremony began with the posting of the American and Colorado flags by the Delta JROTC. Soloist Nikki Lally sang the "Star Spangled Banner." Rowan read the history of each flag as it was posted by Emblem Club members. The MIA-POW flag was posted by ROTC member Eric Marshall. Chaplain Debbie Houser then read a reply to the histories of the flags. Lally led the audience in singing "God Bless America." Before dismissal, a ceremony of flag retirement was conducted by esquire Paul Cross. Ruth Marvel Press correspondent
