IOOF officers installed

District 28 Oddfellows and Rebekahs held a public installation of officers Jan. 28 in Delta. Past district deputy grand master Glen Conger and district deputy president Joyce Conger officiated.

Marshals were Terry Dalpiz, Delta Oddfellows #116, and Carol Mendenhall, Elberta Rebekah Lodge #106. Musician was Myrna Bertram, Elberta Rebekah Lodge #106, and district chaplain was Bob Malard, Uncompahgre Oddfellows #65.

Thirty-four members and one guest were present. Awards were given for perfect attendance to Myrna Bertram, Carolynn Andersen, Grace Farmer and Bonnie Pope, Elberta Rebekah Lodge #106, and to Margaret Hogan, Margaret Blair and Pat Monger of Olathe Rebekah Lodge #99. Outgoing noble grand Bonnie Pope of Elberta #106 received a gift certificate to Rocky Mountain Pantry in Delta and outgoing noble grand Toni Conger of Katherine Rebekah Lodge #65 received from her father, Glen Conger, the past noble grand jewel he received when he was 18 years old.

Health concerns were expressed for Evon and Sonny Carpenter, Ruth Dawson, Gale Conger and Dolly Wilson.

The next district meeting will be April 23 in Delta with the Montrose lodges as host. A big thanks to all who braved the bad weather to come for the installation. The wish was expressed for a good year of fellowship for each lodge in District #28. The meeting was adjourned and refreshments were enjoyed by all.
