Cedaredge High School is celebrating Homecoming this week with dress-up days, class games, softball, volleyball and football competitions.
The Cedaredge softball team will take on Delta Thursday, Sept. 14, with games at 4 and 6 p.m. The volleyball team will also be in action. A chili cookoff will take place in conjunction with the volleyball games. At the conclusion of competition, a bonfire will light up the night.
The weekend kicks off with a parade at 1 p.m. Friday. Student organizations and classes will assemble floats in the morning, and the parade will run down Main Street.
The afternoon continues with a varsity softball game against Rifle at the Field of Dreams at 3 p.m. Admission is free for the community.
Friday evening, the FFA Taste of Ag Tailgate Party dinner will begin at 5 p.m. at Cedaredge High School before the football game. Dinner will include the traditional beef, pork, lamb, rolls, Olathe sweet corn, local fresh fruit from Fritchman Orchards and ice cream. Please come cheer on your school and show your Bruin pride, while also having a great meal. Adult admission is $12 a plate, and elementary aged kids are $7.
Cedaredge plays Vail Christian High School at 7 p.m. Halftime will feature the Cedaredge High School Marching Band, as well as the crowning of Homecoming royalty.
Saturday begins with a junior varsity softball game against Central at 11 a.m. at the Field of Dreams. The Homecoming dance for CHS students also takes place that evening from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.; admission is $8 for couples and $5 for singles.
