Recent reports of surge in coal production in the Appalachian coal fields. Amazing how fast a horse can run when you stop jerking on the reins. Eliminating EPA regulations on the so-called Clean Power Plan, Stream Protection and Waters of the U.S. instantly unleased market forces on the coal industry. Not to mention recent discoveries of manipulating scientific data to meet the agenda before the Paris party on so-called climate change.
Time to face facts. You can't produce enough wind and solar power to replace coal. Apparently, not everyone is in favor of wind turbines killing endangered species, or massive solar arrays in their back yard.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
