John "Jack" Douglas Lowe of Hermiston, Ore., died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, at his home. He was 79.
He was born in Delta Sept. 1, 1936, to William and Frankie (Crawley) Lowe. He was raised in Delta and graduated from Delta High School in 1954.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. After he was honorably discharged he returned to Colorado.
Mr. Lowe worked as a regional agent supervisor for American General and Southland Insurance companies. He also operated DTD Outfit in Delta, guiding for 25 years.
He lived in Kenai, Alaska, from 2008 until 2013 when he moved to Hermiston, Ore., where he worked for Walmart and Home Depot.
He enjoyed being a trapshooter, fisherman and guide and outfitter.
Mr. Lowe is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Lowe of Hermiston, Ore.; a brother, Bill (Barbara) Lowe of Salt Lake City, Utah; his grandchildren, Sabrina and Tony Hyland and Andy Golden; and his great-grandchildren, Sophia, Ryan and Piper; Jolene Lowe; Mike Heinz (Kenda and Ashley), Barbie and John Griggs, Chuck and Joni Euler, and Brooke Euler; and extended family.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Lowe.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3, at Church of Christ, 2893 Patterson Road in Grand Junction.
