Jacob I. "Jake" Weber of Delta died Oct. 29, 2017, at his home. He was 80.
He was born Oct. 8, 1937, in Montrose to Earl and Loeta (Barton) Weber.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy (Stone) Weber; his sons, Bruce (Kim) of Colorado Springs and Jay (Ramona) of Creede; grandchildren, Travis (Kelly) of Delta, Kristy (Bert) Sisemore of Montrose, Ranae (Robert) Williams of Montrose, Bethany Weaver of Colorado Springs, Jimmy (Lauren) of Clifton, Jessica of Montrose, Randi (Malcolm) Snead of Creede and Kelly (Nichole) DePriest of Creede; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Catt of Fruita; brother, Robert of Montrose; and extended family.
He was preceded in death by two sons; two sisters; and one brother.
Mr. Weber was a mechanic, farmer and janitor who enjoyed spending time with his family, farming, hunting, the mountains and being a volunteer grandparent.
At his request, no services are planned. A reception will be held Nov. 1 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the family home, 1810 5100 Road, Delta.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Elementary School library and reading program in Delta.

On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
