James Charles Beecham

James Charles Beecham passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, at his home in Cory with his wife, son and daughter-in-law by his side. He was 70 years old.

Jim was born on Dec. 24, 1945, in Omaha, Neb. to Edward and Clara (Brown) Beecham. He graduated from high school in Omaha, attended Bellevue College and served in the Navy.

On April 17, 1971, he married Louise Macholan. They have one son, Jason Patrick Beecham.

Jim and his family resided in Omaha, Neb., until 1980 when they moved to the Hot Springs, Ark. area. In 2002, they moved to Colorado, living in Montrose for 13 years and then made their home in Cory.

Jim always enjoyed life. He was fun-loving, cheerful and loved conversing with people. He also enjoyed gardening, sports, playing cards and "horseshoes."

Jim was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was baptized on Sept. 3, 1991. He did his best to live his life by what he learned from the Bible and wanted to share it and his hope for the future with others.

Surviving family members include his wife, Louise; one son, Jason and his wife Lillian of Cory; brothers, Pat (Betty) Beecham of Omaha, Neb., and Tom (Chris) Beecham of Warrenton, Ore.; sisters, Jeanie (James) Spudich and Mary Wallman of Omaha, Neb., and Jackie Fetzer of Ukiah, Cali.; as well as many nieces and nephews; also, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Lori Williams; and mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, Darline and Jim Stewart, all of Montrose.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Beecham; one sister, Beverly McCauley; and parents, Edward and Clara Beecham.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Montrose on 16672 Woodgate Road.
