James Wren Jr. died Saturday, July 23, 2016, at his home in Cedaredge. He was 72.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
James Andrew Wren Jr. was born in Glover, Mo., Nov. 14, 1943, to James and Edna (Hill) Wren Sr.
He served in the U.S. Navy and later attended college. He worked as a welder and pipe fitter.
He is survived by his wife, Krista Wren of Cedaredge; two sons, Timothy Wren of Grand Junction and Robert Brewer of Greeley; two daughters, Deanna Brewer and Janet Adcock, both of Grand Junction; his sisters, Sharris Spears of Columbia, Ill., and Lora Mantz of Dupo, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Wren; two brothers, Roger Wren and Walter Wren; and a sister, Cassie Kerperien.

At their March 5 meeting Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes made two appointments to the county planning commission. Steve Shea was reappointed for a three-year term.
