Jerilyn (Jeri) Gail Gonzalez Floyd was born on May 17, 1957, at Centinela Hospital in Inglewood, Calif., the eldest child of Jack and Waynella Gonzalez. In 1971, the Gonzalez family moved from Torrance, Calif., to Cedaredge. Jeri attended Cedaredge High School where she graduated in May of 1975. In the fall of 1975, Jeri commenced her college career at the University of Colorado Health Science Center and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene the spring of 1980. Jeri went on to earn a MBA from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wash. Jeri enjoyed a career as a dental hygienist for many years, and owned and operated several businesses with her husband Dr. Carlton Floyd.
Jeri wed Carlton James (CJ) Floyd Sept. 18, 1982, in Colorado Springs at the United States Air Force Academy. CJ and Jeri shared a blessed life together that included two beautiful daughters, Adrienne Dené and Carolyn Jeanine. CJ's military service as a dentist and oral surgeon provided the family the opportunity to live in Washington, Texas, Panama and Colorado.
Jeri leaves behind her beloved husband CJ, daughters Adrienne Dené of New York City, N.Y., and Carolyn Jeanine of Denver. She is survived by her parents, Jack and Waynella Gonzalez, brother Ken Gonzalez, sister Pam (Joe) Berger and their families, aunt and uncles Linda and LeRoy Black, all of Cedaredge. She is also survived by mother-in-law, Rosa Lee Floyd, brothers-in-law Leonard Floyd, Kenneth Floyd, Timothy Floyd and their families, many cousins in Colorado, California and Montana, and many other cherished family and friends who have shared her life and love.
Jeri passed away Feb. 24, 2017, at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora after a long battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at Cedaredge United Methodist Church. The officiant will be Reverend Joseph Agne; the pianist is Shirley R. Clayton. Please join the family for a reception in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
