Jessie A. Ford of Cory died at her home on Oct. 10, 2016. She was 96.
She was born on Redlands Mesa in Delta County June 4, 1920, to Edward and Etta (Martin) Widner. She spent her childhood on Redlands Mesa and attended school in Hotchkiss and Delta. She graduated from Hotchkiss High School in 1938.
On Nov. 1, 1938, she married Robert Ford. They were married 55 years.
Mrs. Ford was a member of the Delta United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and telling stories.
She is survived by her only child, Robert Ford of Lakewood.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ford in 1993; four brothers, Chester, Clifford, Lloyd and Hugh Widner; and two sisters, Inez Varner and Dicie Varner.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Delta City Cemetery.

On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
