James "Jim" Eddins died Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, at his home in Delta. He was 76.
A visitation will be held at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta Thursday, Oct. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 30, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel with Jenny Ray Mc-
Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Delta City Cemetery.
Mr. Eddins was born in Meridian, Miss., Nov. 13, 1938, to Harrison and Thelma (Norsworthy) Eddins. He spent his childhood in Meri-dian and graduated from Meridian High School. After graduation, he attended East Mississippi Junior College.
When he was 17 years old, he served in the National Guard.
He married Ann Marie Brooker in Eutaw, Ala., Nov. 6, 1964. They lived on the Western Slope since 1972 and lived in Glenwood Springs before moving to Delta in 1993.
Mr. Eddins was a Baptist. He enjoyed his family, archery hunting, fishing, working in his shop, learning how to make things work, and making things out of copper and other metals.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann Eddins of Delta; two daughters, Virginia (Alex) Kaseberg of San Diego, Calif., and Jennifer Eddins of Centennial; two sisters, Pat Phillips of Butler, Ala., and Linda Kater of Stedman, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and five sisters.
