Cedaredge resident Joseph McFadden died April 14, 2017, at Horizons Care Center in Eckert. He was 90.
No services will be held at this time.
He was born Feb. 20, 1927, in Burlington to Edward and Bertha McFadden. He spent his childhood in Denver where he graduated from East High School.
After graduation, he attended the University of Denver and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On April 30, 1949, he married Geraldine Newcomb.
Mr. McFadden was a member of the Catholic Church, Lumberman's Association and he served on the board of education in Englewood.
He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, skiing, sailing, river rafting and spending time with friends.
He is survived by his three sons, J. Patrick (Kathy) McFadden of Layton, Utah, H. Kenneth (Karen) McFadden of Whitefish, Mont., and J. Donavon (Sheri) of Cedaredge; one daughter, Tamie (Chuck) Bromley of Boise, Idaho; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine; and his nine siblings.

Delta Volunteer Fire Department (DVFD) will be holding its annual fireworks show at Confluence Park on Wednesday, July 4, having received approval from Delta City Council at the council's June 5 meeting.
The DVFD has 28 volunteers and expects to have eight to 10 firefighters from Cedaredge join them this year.
