Judith Ann Aitken of Cedaredge died March 28, 2017, after a short illness. She was 68.
She was born in Boulder May 2, 1948, to Robert and Mary (Thompson) Smith. She moved with her family to Cedaredge when she was two years old and graduated from Cedaredge High School in 1966.
On Dec. 19, 1986, she married David Aitken.
She had many careers throughout her life but was best known for her gardening, herbs and quilting.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, David of Cedaredge; daughters, Catherine Weeks of Grand Junction and Deborah (John) Rash of Cedaredge; three grandchildren, Alyssa, Jesse and Isabella; five siblings; and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
