July unemployment pegged at 5.1 percent

According to the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, the state unemployment rate increased one-tenth of a percentage point in July to 3.8 percent.
In Delta County, unemployment was estimated at 5.1 percent, compared to 5.8 percent in the month of June. From July 2015 to July 2016, the labor force remained essentially unchanged at just over 13,900, but unemployment dropped four-tenths of a percentage point.
In the Grand Junction area, unemployment is estimated at 6.0 percent. Unemployment in Montrose County stands at 4.2 percent.
The national unemployment rate remained unchanged over the same period at 4.9 percent.
