Hotchkiss resident Karen Imel died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, in Hotchkiss. She was 56.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Mountain View Bible Church in Lazear. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery in Hotchkiss.
Karen Loraine Wescoat was born in Delta Jan. 21, 1959, to Willard and Erma (Gregory) Wescoat. She spent her childhood in Uravan and graduated from Nucla High School in 1977.
On Jan. 28, 1978, she married Eddie Imel in Grand Junction.
Mrs. Imel owned and operated the Ultramat in Hotchkiss for many years.
She enjoyed her family, especially her two granddaughters, helping others, scrapbooking and her Pomeranians.
Mrs. Imel is survived by three daughters, Cristi (Steve) Amble of Cedaredge, Carrie Imel of Alaska and Katie (Jason) Rounds of Seattle, Wash.; one brother, Arthur Wescoat; two sisters, Marie Bowker and Evelyn "Sissy" Herring; and two granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lois "Dodie" Sine; and her husband of 14 years, Eddie Imel on March 5, 1992.
