Karen Sue Williams of Grand Junction died Dec. 27, 2015. She was 68.
She was born in Delta July 13, 1947, to Dorothy and Harold Webb. She attended school in Delta and graduated in 1965. She attended Mesa College before moving to Denver.
She enlisted in the U.S. Army in February 1976 and was honorably discharged that same year due to a religious conflict.
She moved to Oklahoma City, Okla., where she lived with her mother and worked at Tinker Air Force Base.
She married Ronnie Williams on May 14, 1993. They lived in Atoka, Okla., until Ronnie died in July 1995. Mrs. Williams moved back to Oklahoma City, where she lived until moving to Grand Junction in August 2004.
Mrs. Williams was an active member of The Church of the Firstborn. She enjoyed spending time camping and fishing with family, reading, traveling, reminiscing about her youth and her mother, and making jokes.
She is survived by her father and stepmother, Harold and Sondra Webb of Delta; her sisters, Lynda Webb and Janine (Michael) Sitz of Grand Junction; and two nieces, Breanna Fogg of Cedaredge and Brandi (Sam) Dantzler and their daughter Abigail of Littleton.
Grand Valley Funeral Homes handled the arrangements.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
