Katie Jo Park died May 15, 2017, at her home in Colorado Springs. She was 38.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 26, at Taylor Funeral Home. Burial will be at Delta City Cemetery.
She was born April 15, 1979, to Randy and Donna Park in Rifle. She attended Delta High School and graduated in 1997. She furthered her education by attending Delta-Montrose Technical College and Trinidad State College. A registered nurse, she worked at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs as a renal nurse for the past 15 years.
She enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends, reading and watching movies.
She is survived by her mother, Donna; a sister, Jessica (Derek) Carlson; a nephew, Elias; nieces, Abigail and Jillian; and extended family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Katie Jo Park Memorial Nursing Scholarship at First Colorado National Bank, 150 Gunnison River Drive, Delta, CO 81416.
Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory is handling the arrangements.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
