Kay Arlene Stewart died unexpectedly Oct. 10, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. She was 67.
Kay Hilderman was born in Billings, Mont., April 4, 1949. She graduated from Park City High School as valedictorian. She moved to Denver to attend business school and obtained an associate degree.
She married Orville Stewart April 5, 1969, and they moved to his hometown of Center. They lived in Center for 35 years before moving to Montrose to be closer to their grandchildren.
Mrs. Stewart worked as a bookkeeper or comptroller throughout her career.
She enjoyed going on drives with her family, reading and playing Words With Friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and having girls' weekends with her sisters, daughter and granddaughter.
She is survived by her siblings, Darlene (Jerry) Gunther of Center, Berdi (Scott) Marquez of Monte Vista, Becky (Dennis) O'Reilly of Billings, Mont., and Harry (Sue) Hilderman of Goodyear, Ariz.; her children, Penny (Scott) Siettman of Delta and Josh (Julie) Stewart of Fruita; her grandchildren, Taylor Bess, Grady Bess and William Stewart; and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Services were held Saturday, Oct. 15, at Heaven's View Apartments in Delta.
Delta's second annual "Kickoff to Christmas" takes place Saturday, Nov. 25. This event is sponsored by the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce and First Colorado National Bank.
