Grand Junction resident Kenney "Ken" S. Morris died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. He was 79.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Road, Grand Junction.
Mr. Morris was born in Willow, Okla., Jan. 4, 1936, to Firzell "Hap" and Georgia Morris. He attended high school in Capitan, N.M., and graduated from New Mexico Western College in Silver City, N.M.
He lived in California and Texas for several years and worked in the oil and gas industry.
Mr. Morris lived in Paonia for 26 years where he worked for TDS Telecom until retirement. He moved to Grand Junction 10 years ago.
He was a member of Bookcliff Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, ranching and airplanes.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jeanie Morris of Grand Junction; his daughter, Laurie Sayward of San Diego, Calif.; his son, Joe (Melinda) Martin Sr. of Spring, Texas; a sister, Ruth (Jim) Pierce of Lincoln, Neb.; a sister-in-law, Linda Morris of Lufkin, Texas; and four grandchildren, Stacey Sayward, Joe Martin Jr., Charles Martin and Justin Martin; and extended family.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Don Morris.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
