An anonymous donor has offered to give $1,000 to the Abraham Connection homeless shelter if a match can be leveraged by Nov. 15. The board of directors and the donor have agreed that these funds will be earmarked for case management services.

Delta community offers free summer meals for kids

The Abraham Connection, Delta County School District and the Western Colorado Community Foundation are teaming up to sponsor the Delta Summer Kids Lunch Program - Panther Power Bites, to ensure children in Delta have access to summer meals while school is out.

The Panther Power Bites program will offer a free lunch daily, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., to all children 18 years and younger at the Abraham Connection building, 480 Silver Street in Delta.

A record number of bed nights have been reported at Abraham Connection, the homeless shelter that opened a permanent shelter at 5th and Silver last fall.

Hungry? Abraham Connection serves free meals every Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and every Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Westminster Hall, 135 E. 4th Street, Delta, across from the post office. There are no income restrictions
