A fresh start is in the works for Delta Opportunity School and the students it serves.
The alternative school was established to keep students from falling through the cracks -- to serve kids who don't fit the traditional mold and are in danger of dropping out of school.
A total of 1.8 million votes were cast by 72,000 people in an effort to bring a $25,000 State Farm Assist grant to their neighborhoods. For the second time, Food for Thought is one of the top 40 causes to receive grants.
The 2016-17 school year has brought many changes to the Delta Opportunity School, but one thing hasn't changed -- the school's commitment to providing an individualized educational program intended to give students at-risk of not graduating an alternative route to earning their high school diploma.
