The sweeping scope of the ENGAGE initiative -- a combination of programming intended to promote energy, agriculture and entrepreneurship, along with a physical presence in Delta, is proving to be a lot to bite off.
Technical College of the Rockies is spearheading this initiative with support from the school district, Delta County Economic Development, the City of Delta, Delta County and Region 10.
A $680,000 grant to fund start-up operations of the Engage Center has resulted in the hiring of Shawn Gardner as operations director.
The old City Market building in downtown Delta is the "hub" of the Engage Center, but its "spokes" will be located across the county.
The vision for the ENGAGE Innovation Center at Delta was outlined during the "Morning Business Buzz" hosted by the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce. The April 18 networking event was held at the Delta United Methodist Fellowship Hall, where the women of the church served a light breakfast.
