Vendors sought for Delta food, wine festival

Vendors are now being accepted to showcase a signature dish, dessert, candy, wine, beer or other food-related item at the second annual Taste of Spring, Delta's premier food and wine festival. This fun event brings together local restaurants, cottage foods producers, wineries, breweries and others to showcase and market their items while raising funds to help middle and high school kids in Delta and Cedaredge.

Help make critters fundraiser a success

Volunteers at the Shelter Shoppe are working hard on this year's Feb. 11 Crockpots for Critters fundraiser at the Civic Center and they are asking for a little bit of help from the community with improvements being made to this year's event.

Funding site launched

A crowdfunding site has been launched for the Delta High School class that won the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow challenge for the state of Colorado. The students are using STEM principles to address a real-life problem -- excessive noise in the cafeteria at Lincoln Elementary School.

Hart fundraiser set for Saturday

Ongoing fundraising efforts for Hillman family

On May 28, North Fork father, husband and all around great guy Michael Hillman was in an accident that resulted in a debilitating and life-changing spinal cord injury and quadriplegia.

Fundraising efforts are underway to help the family with immediate and long-term needs, including a remodel of their home and purchase of a van and a wheelchair.

Fundraiser planned for Brandon Flores

Delta Pizza Hut is hosting a fundraiser for Brandon Flores, the Delta High School student who was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle on April 24.

On Sunday, June 5, 10 percent of the proceeds from meals purchased at Pizza Hut will go to help the Flores family with medical expenses.

2,052 served at 4-H Beef Roast

Delta County 4-H'ers served approximately 2,052 dinners at their 66th annual 4-H Beef Roast, Sunday, March 6. The once-a-year 4-H fundraising activity served 1,042 meals at Hotchkiss High and 1,010 at Delta Middle School.

Fruit sale benefits Tyler Clymo fund

The annual end-of-the-season fruit sale at Fritchman Orchards netted a total of $2,693.65 this year.

Proceeds from the annual event will go toward a fund established for Tyler Clymo, a youth in the community who is undergoing treatments for a type of cancer.
