The sight is all too common in Delta County -- an older RV is parked in the middle of a parcel of land without access to water or a sewage disposal system. Some folks are just passing through; others seem to be more permanent, surrounding their residences with a growing collection of vehicles, outbuildings and, on occasion, trash and cast-off items.
Jolyne Young, health educator with Delta County Health Department, donated 50 customized tobacco-free signs to George Baier, manager of operational services at Delta County Memorial Hospital, as part of a grant through the State Tobacco Education & Prevention Partnership (STEPP). The signs indicate no cigarettes, vaping or chew are allowed on the tobacco-free campus of the hospital, or at any of its 10 clinics in Delta, Cedaredge, Hotchkiss and Paonia.
