An open house will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Hillman House, 551 Juniper Street in Hotchkiss.
The house was built for Mike Hillman, who was injured in a fall last May and is now a quadriplegic.
Fashion and art will be the highlight of the Nov. 5 Gallery and Runway Benefit for the Hillman House.
The event is the idea of Chelsy Reed.
Trustees for the Town of Hotchkiss voted unanimously last week to make a rare exception to finance almost $10,000 in tap fees in what they all agree is a very unique situation.
The Hillman House Trust agreed to make monthly payments of $466 for two years to pay for water and sewer tap fees associated with the home they are building for Mike Hillman.
The regular meeting of the Hotchkiss Town Council last Thursday evening, Aug. 18, was gaveled to order by Larry Jakubiak, mayor pro tem.
The other five trustees and deputy clerk Ginger Redden navigated a 29-item agenda with aplomb and all votes were unanimous.
