Navy Midshipman Samuel J. Williamson from Cedaredge participated in the 2017 spring Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) ship selection draft as a future member of the U.S. Navy's Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) community.

More than 280 midshipmen at Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) units around the country have selected to serve in the Navy as surface warfare officers.

A tribute to those serving in the military

People visiting AppleFest two weeks ago may have noticed the shiny, satin yellow ribbons that had been placed on Cedaredge's Main Street light poles and tied around many of the trees in Town Park.

The ribbons are a patriotic reminder of those in the military who are stationed overseas in the way of ever increasing danger, working to keep Americans safe and American freedoms alive.
